On August 21st, 2013 the Paradox Farm in Ashby, MN will present “Let’s Talk Potatoes,” an overview of a Participatory Potato Variety Trial. This event will begin at 1:30pm with a potluck lunch on the farm followed by a tour of the potato variety trial and a presentation from the University of Wisconsin’s Dr. Ruth Genger. From 3:30-4pm guests will have the chance to participate in a discussion and ask questions before leaving the farm. Paradox Farm is located at 11643 State Hwy 78, Ashby, MN 56309, 10 miles south of Battle Lake and seven miles north of Ashby.

The 2014 NCR-SARE Research and Education Grant Program Call for Preproposals is now available online.
NCR-SARE’s Research and Education (R&E) program supports sustainable agriculture innovators with competitive research and education grants. Individual grants range from $10,000 to $200,000. NCR-SARE expects to fund about seven to ten projects in the twelve-state North Central Region.

NCR-SARE is pleased to announce the projects recommended for funding for the Research and Education and Graduate Student competitive grant programs. More than 25 projects were awarded a total of more than $1.6 million through these two NCR-SARE grant programs, which offer competitive grants for researchers, graduate students, organizations, and others who are exploring sustainable agriculture in America’s Midwest.
