2014 Extension Energy and Environment Summit
Extension Educators, NGO’s, and outreach and policy professionals who are involved with agriculture, energy, and natural resources won’t want to miss the 2014 Extension Energy and Environment Summit.
This event will include conventional conference sessions, as well as extension speed sharing sessions and multiple field tours. The conference will be held September 23-25, 2014 at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center, 2100 Green Hills Drive, Ames, Iowa.
The conference will kick-off with an evening plenary session from John Gilliland, titled, “Sustainable Intensification: What Is It and How is Ireland Approaching Implementation.”
Exact presentation sessions are being yet to be decided, but topics will likely highlight the areas of bioenergy and/or renewable energy systems, sharing resources and ideas, bioenergy crop research and production, and social and economic issues relating to bioenergy or bioenergy business models.
Field tours will be held each day as part of this event. Bus rides to the field sites will be provided and include facilitated discussions on the way. These tours will feature multiple perspectives on biomass production, harvest, storage, transportation, and preprocessing.
More information about the conference can be found online at www.2014e3.org. There, you will find more information about the field tours, see the tentative agenda, and more.
2014e3 Summit sponsors include CenUSA Bioenergy, Iowa NSF EPSCoR, and the NCR-SARE program.
